“Waiting for the 1940s Train” & “Looking Back”,

Where’d that come from? The jacket I’m wearing in the Polaroids above belongs to my mother; she purchased it from Stern’s department store when she was a teenager. Below is a photo of her wearing it around the time of the purchase, in 1976. My mother felt independent “like Mary Tyler Moore” because she was able to purchase this expensive jacket with money she had earned from working as a commercial artist. Thank goodness my mother is a packrat (must be where I get that trait from) and saved this relic, among with a few other articles of clothing from her teenage years and 20s (that I coveted) because I thoroughly enjoy incorporating them into my photo shoots!!
