Lindsay + Joe.

Recently, I had the opportunity to shoot a special engagement session. This shoot was near and dear to my heart because it was for my best friend Lindsay and her fiance Joe. They are one of my favorite couples (and I’m not just saying that because I am in their wedding party). They are an extremely dynamic, well-matched pair. I couldn’t be happier for them!!

I’ve known Lindsay since 7th grade. We bonded in an advanced art class (we were the cynical, anti-social pair who kept to ourselves in a room full of preppy girls and weirdos) and have been best friends ever since. Throughout middle school and high school, Lindsay listened to R&B and crappy rap artists like Sisqo and Nelly. Then one day Lindsay realized something that she almost didn’t want to admit to me… she liked country music. Not just liked, but LOOOOOVED country music. (We used to make fun of those girls!!) Fast-forward to now, and people like Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley are her favorite artists. So it wasn’t a big surprise when she told me she wanted to incorporate cowboy boots into her engagement photos. I knew the perfect location for this country-themed shoot… my backyard.

Lindsay and Joe also brought Bella (their 98-pound, one-year-old Bull Mastiff) along with them. As soon as they arrived Bella proceeded to… yuck, nevermind, I won’t tell you what happened to this poor dog when they first arrived. Let’s just say apparently, Bella ate a rope toy… and leave it at that. The scene was incredibly hilarious and Lindsay and Joe’s reactions were priceless. This is surely a couple who is able to deal with life’s chaotic moments with a laugh.

Lindsay is typically always camera-ready and brought along wardrobe selections and little signs/props. She even made the flower garland you see on Bella in the photos. I guess all of those torturous Horizons Visual Arts classes paid off!! ;)

I am extremely happy with the way these photos came out because they showcase how in love they truly are.
